Counterbalance Forklift Parts - In the material handling industry counterbalance lift trucks are very popular pieces of machinery. They can be usually used in warehouses and factories all over the globe. The leading lift truck producers like for example Mitsubishi, Linde and Toyota all construct counterbalance forklifts. They are existing in different fuel choices like for instance electric, gas or diesel. Normally, a counterbalanced forklift truck contains the following parts:

The Cab is the section that has a seat meant for the one operating it and houses the steering wheel, a dashboard containing operator readouts, control pedals, levers and various switches. The Truck Frame is the base of the equipments that each of the different parts, wheels, power source, mast and counterweight, the axles are all attached to. The frame may even have fuel tanks and hydraulic fuel tanks made as part of its assembly. The Mast is the vertical assembly that does most of the work lowering and raising the forklift's load.

The counterweight is a heavy mass of cast iron which is connected to the back of the forklift truck frame. The counterweights' objective is to offset the load being lifted. With an electric forklift, the large lead-acid battery itself could work as part of or all of the counterweight. The Power Supply could have an internal combustion engine that could be powered by diesel, gasoline, LP gas or CNG gas. Electric forklifts are powered by either fuel cells which provide power to a battery or electric motors. The electric motors can be either DC or AC kinds.

Attachments for the forks vary in the kind of application they allow the forklift to execute. Attachments include: fork positioners, roll clamps, container handlers, carpet poles, pole handlers, side shifters, multipurpose clams, carton clamps and slip-sheet attachments. Numerous manufacturing companies will specifically customize an attachment to be able to meet a client need.

When needing to park pallets closely together, the counterbalance lift truck is the best electric lift meant for the job. There are numerous advantages to using a counterbalance lift rather than straddle-leg and fork-over designs. They do have several disadvantages though. A counterbalanced forklift can carry pallets directly off the floor for the reason that there are no stabilization legs to get in the way. The main disadvantage of this model of forklift is that the lift height and the weight capacity will normally be less compared to the different kinds.
