Cascade Clamps - Founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company began as a small machine shop hiring just 4 people. Overall sales for that particular year totaled $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and various components. Through five years of operation, the company had expanded to 40 workers and their yearly sales volume had increased to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is among the top worldwide producers in the material handling industry.
Design and manufacturing of the company's original hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively engage in new business opportunities. All through the final sixty years, the business of material handling has grown into a very sophisticated area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its development. Cascade at present continues to develop as the leader supplier of forklift accessories and numerous associated products. The company feels assured in their skill in order to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the global market.
In the 1950's, Cascade began designing, fabricating and advertising hydraulic attachments. Construction was done in 1956 on a brand new facility so as to accommodate all office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current center of operations. Following fifteen years of business, total employees reached 180 staff and sales had reached almost $2,300,000.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Dallas the next production facility was built. 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry while the business recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Ever since then the company has expanded its manufacturing facilities within the continental USA to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Dallas. Cascade products are made globally due to a lot of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This facility is designed to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and the year 1997 with the remarkable acquisition of five corporations, including the international best in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
